Sr. Engineer - FEA Structural Simulations Areas of Responsibilities: This role will primarily be responsible for supporting modeling and simulation activities for the Digital Displacement business by providing robust component-level models to help the team optimize their product. Key Tasks: Conduct physics-based simulation to evaluate stress and fatigue life of components. Liaise with global business stakeholders to drive analysis-driven design in the product development cycle. Develop and validate digital prototypes to mimic product physics and predict key specifications. Leverage DFSS methodology to enable robust product designs. Independently handle project assignments and manage day-to-day project responsibilities. Embrace continuous improvement initiatives and demonstrate consistent increase in value from project deliverables. It will be an advantage if you have: Experience and exposure to developing solutions at the system level by understanding the hydraulics architecture. Strong background in solid mechanics with a thorough understanding of FEA fundamentals. Experience handling complex nonlinear analysis involving geometric, contact, and material nonlinear behavior. In-depth understanding of fatigue fundamentals with working knowledge of stress and strain-based fatigue life predictions. Hands-on experience with CAE software programs such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, Hypermesh, nCode & FEsafe. Experience working in a global team setting. Success Criteria: Understand customer (internal and external) pain-points and provide solutions. Help the team make efficient data-driven decisions on designs and solutions. Reduction of prototype testing - testing designs only when necessary. Enable and percolate virtual testing methods and capabilities among the design team, application engineers, and software engineers. Provide analysis and reports back to the business, which could be impactful and affect the workgroup or project team, suppliers, multiple units, and both internal and external customers. Able to convey technical analysis to both technical and non-technical colleagues. Candidate Requirements: Educational Background: Master's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Applied Mechanics/Design from reputed institutes. 3-6 years of experience in the Structural Mechanics domain. Working Experience: Understanding of the basics of hydraulic systems and physics associated with them. Thorough knowledge of Finite Element Methods, Strength of Materials, and Machine Design. Demonstrated ability to interpret, summarize, and communicate FEA analysis results to a global audience and provide technical/design recommendations.
