Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Cost Engineer Responsibilities

Conduct research to create forecasts about the cost of a project.
Create estimation reports for the project manager.
Collaborate with the project manager to make decisions about resource allocation.
Anticipate potential risks and develop preventative solutions.
Assist with feasibility studies and strategize how to increase margins of profit of a project.
Identify costs and overall budget, ensuring the project is on track.
Review and assess project timelines.

Cost Engineer Job Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering/ Diploma
At least 5 years of work experience in the sheet Metal industry.
Structured organization skills, highly resourceful, and dependable.
Driven and motivated with a strong attention to detail.
Review engineering drawings and customer RFQs for accurate cost assessment.
Develop BOMs and operation routings aligned with fabrication processes.
Coordinated with sourcing for vendor quotes and pricing alignment.
Maintained costing records in Excel and ERP software, ensuring accurate historical cost
tracking
Supported design and production teams in validating cost assumptions and managing design
Familiar with sheet metal processes including CNC punching, laser cutting, bending, welding
process, and forming.
