Sr. Embedded Firmware Engineer

As a Sr. Embedded Firmware Engineer at our company, you will be responsible for designing and developing embedded system firmware according to specified requirements. Your focus will include creating technical specifications, designing application firmware architecture, writing firmware code, and providing support for manufacturing and regulatory approvals. Key Responsibilities: - Write firmware for 32-bit microcontrollers for real-time safety critical applications. - Design, develop, and implement embedded system hardware/firmware solutions to meet business needs. - Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to understand functional requirements and develop designs, implementations, and test cases. - Create and maintain technical specifications related to product development. - Develop test protocols. - Utilize design analysis techniques like FMEA or rate monotonic analysis to validate software designs before implementation. - Troubleshoot and resolve firmware defects identified during bench, lab, and production QA testing. - Use hardware and firmware design and development tools such as Lint, Understand, and other analysis tools to ensure software releases meet quality and coding standards. - Assist in regulatory engineering for outside agency approval of end products. - Provide on-site support to manufacturing during engineering and production builds. - Contribute actively to the adoption of hardware architecture, best practices, and technologies. Qualification Required: - Hands-on experience in hardware/firmware development. - Proficiency in improving real-time system performance. - Ability to interface with hardware design and development. - Hands-on experience in software development using embedded C/C++. - Experience in hardware development in motion control. - Familiarity with real-time safety critical embedded systems. - Knowledge of all aspects of the product lifecycle including requirements, design, development, HW/SW integration, and testing. - Understanding of standards such as IEC62304, MISRAC, and software validation processes for the medical domain. - Demonstrated ability to identify problems and raise issues effectively. - Strong leadership skills, self-driven, goal-oriented, and efficient. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt quickly.
