The Sr. Embedded Firmware Engineer is responsible for designing and developing embedded system firmware to meet specified requirements. This role involves creating technical specifications, developing application firmware architecture, writing firmware code, and providing support for manufacturing and regulatory approvals. You must possess knowledge of basic software development practices and principles. As a Sr. Embedded Firmware Engineer, you will collaborate with peers on daily development tasks and troubleshoot platform defects of limited complexity. Key Responsibilities: - Writing firmware for 32-bit microcontrollers used in real-time safety critical applications. - Designing, developing, and implementing embedded system hardware/firmware solutions according to business requirements. - Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to understand system functional requirements, develop designs, implementations, and test cases. - Creating and maintaining technical specifications related to product development. - Generating test protocols and using design analysis techniques like FMEA or rate monotonic analysis for software design validation. - Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving firmware defects discovered during bench, lab, and production QA testing. - Utilizing hardware and firmware design and development tools to ensure software releases meet quality and coding standards. - Assisting regulatory engineering in obtaining outside agency approval for end products. - Providing on-site support to manufacturing during engineering and production builds. - Actively contributing to the adoption of hardware architecture best practices and technologies. Requirements: - Expertise in designing and developing medical/automotive/robotics firmware. - 8-15 years of relevant experience. - Educational qualifications: M.E. or B.E. in Electrical/Electronics/Industrial Electronics. - Hands-on experience in hardware/firmware development, motion control, and real-time safety critical embedded systems. - Proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming. - Experience in all stages of the product life cycle: requirements, design, development, HW/SW integration, and testing. - Familiarity with standards such as IEC62304, MISRA-C, and software validation processes for the medical domain. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively raise issues. - Leadership qualities, self-driven, goal-oriented, and efficient. - Team player who can adapt quickly to a dynamic environment.
