Sr. Data Scientist

As a Senior Data Scientist at EG, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to developing industry-specific software that empowers our customers to excel in their professions. In this role, you will join our high-impact AI Center of Excellence (COE) team based in Mangaluru, India. The team is at the forefront of innovation, driving AI-powered digital transformation across various business domains. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge problems using advanced analytics, Agentic AI, GenAI, and traditional ML techniques, leveraging the latest tools and cloud technologies to deliver scalable solutions. Your responsibilities will include designing scalable AI architectures, building and deploying AI use cases in hybrid environments, enabling business units to adopt and maintain AI solutions, conducting feasibility studies, and supporting the integration of AI accelerators into existing applications. You will collaborate closely with business unit teams to drive long-term value creation through AI. In your day-to-day tasks, you will engage with product and business teams to translate requirements into AI/ML solutions, lead feasibility analysis, design solution architecture, develop and evaluate AI/ML models, build end-to-end data pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement models into production. You will also evangelize AI best practices, drive technology adoption, conduct internal trainings, and mentor junior team members. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering or a related discipline, along with 7+ years of experience in AI/ML, including expertise in GenAI, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and prompt engineering. Strong programming skills in Python, experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch, proficiency in cloud-native services, and familiarity with Agile practices are essential requirements for this role.
