Sr Data Engineer I

As a member of the Zinnia data team, you will play a crucial role in leveraging data to uncover opportunities, make informed decisions, and drive business strategy. Your responsibilities will include: - Overseeing technological choices and implementing data pipelines and warehousing philosophy - Serving as lead and/or Subject Matter Expert (SME) on projects involving automation of data value chain processes - Promoting technical best practices within the data organization - Designing a maintainable data architecture to enable efficient work with data for Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and stakeholders - Mentoring data team members in architecture and coding techniques - Designing data pipelines using ETL tools, event-driven software, and other streaming software - Collaborating with data scientists and engineers to bring concepts to reality - Ensuring reliability in data pipelines and enforcing data governance, security, and customer information protection - Partnering with product and engineering teams to design data models for maximizing downstream data Qualifications required for this role include: - Extensive experience in data engineering techniques, Python, and SQL - Familiarity with Airflow and dbt - Comfort and expertise in data engineering tooling such as jira, git, buildkite, terraform, airflow, dbt, containers, GCP suite, terraform kubernetes, and cloud functions - Understanding of ETL patterns, modern data warehousing concepts, data quality practices, and data observability - Passion for data and delivering value to internal and external clients - Ownership mentality to lead a team in delivering efficient data pipeline components - Enthusiasm for learning and teaching, as well as continuous improvement - Willingness to take risks and seek novel solutions to complex problems Technologies you will work with include: - Python for data pipelining and automation - Airbyte for ETL purposes - Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, Kubernetes, Cloud SQL, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, DataStore, and more - Airflow and dbt for data pipelining - Tableau and PowerBI for data visualization and consumer-facing dashboards In addition to the exciting challenges and opportunities this role offers, you will also have the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies and be part of a dynamic team focused on innovation and excellence.,
