Sr. Data Architect

Overall 10+ years in data management roles within banking, asset management, insurance, or financial services. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Architect with deep technical expertise and strong domain knowledge in financial services. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing data platforms that support critical financial processes such as internal reporting, data analysis, non-financial risk management and financial reporting. You will mentor & work with a team of data engineers & developers to ensure data is accurate, accessible, secure, and aligned with both business and regulatory needs.

The Data Architect should have key skills as mentioned below:

1- Strong experience to manage the end to end cycle, knowledge on Financial Market is an advantage

2 Good experience in the areas of Python, SQL server, Oracle, ETL, BI, Statistical Analysis, Data Warehousing and Data Governance.

3- Sound knowledge of Agile (Scrum/Kanban).

Responsibilities

• Represent CEP IT at local and global CIB Forums on Data Design/Architect/Modelling subjects.
• Proven track record of delivering data platforms supporting regulatory, non-financial risk, and financial reporting.
• Experience with large, complex financial data ecosystems.
• Propose / Review/ Challenge Application/database Architecture and Design.
• Guide/Review Technology Obsolescence Management plan for CEP teams.
• Lead automation and guide teams to align with shift left and shift right strategy by encouraging a mindset for automation first and reduce recursive manual efforts.
• Goto person to find solutions to any technical challenges in the domain.
• Hands on and lead by example.
• Review Performance test reports and propose preventive measures to be undertaken.
• Take ownership of POCs and technical feasibility studies.
• Keep up-to-date with latest technologies, trends and provide inputs, expertise and recommendations.
• Owner for few technical improvement projects including planning, tracking and implementation.
• Strong analytical thinking applied to data issues impacting regulatory filings and risk reports

• Contribute towards innovation (e.g. AI/ML - ML models & techniques, NumPy); suggest new technical practices for efficiency improvement.

• Design and optimize data models for financial products, transactions, non-financial risk metrics, and financial reports.
• Contribute to the end-to-end architecture and lifecycle management of financial data platforms, from ingestion to consumption.
• Ensure smooth delivery for Data Services via a core platform.
• Identify and contribute to performance optimization of the platform
• Ensure data pipelines are optimized for scalabilty, stability and security (Data encryption, RBAC/ABAC/DAC, Data masking/tokenization).
• Implement best practices for data lineage tracking, metadata management and data quality (Data profiling, Anomaly detection, Issue management) monitoring.
• Implement complex data ingestion pipelines sourcing from market data providers, custodians, and internal systems & platforms for both structured and unstructured data.
• Strong Hands-on experience in SQL, RDBMS(PL/SQL,Data Architecture, stored procedures) , Data modelling tools, Data warehouse, ETL, Data visualization, Data Governance (Collibra, Data catalogs, Data lineage tools, metadata management, data access pattern).
• Good Knowledge and experience on projects related to Data Modelling, System/Data analysis, design and development for both OLTP and OLAP environments/databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres OpenSearch).
• Experience in Security topics such as IDP, SSO, IAM and related technologies.
• Good knowledge and experience on Batch processing & Streaming (Python, Informatica, SSIS. Knowledge of Ab Initio optional, Kafka, spark/pyspark), API Gateway (APIGEE) and analytics tool (Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects).
• Ensure data classification, data access, retention, encryption and masking (PII and financial data) are as per the needs of the business as well as that of regulators (GDPR, HIPAA, SEC etc)
• Collaborate with Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Operations to deliver trusted data for regulatory filings, risk reporting, and front-office analytics.
• Mentor data engineers and developers.
• Good experience of working with Data Modelling tools like Erwin, ETL tools, Database tools.
• Good Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, DevOps - CI/CD & Automation (Jenkins, Bitbucket, JFrog, Ansible, continuous testing).
• Development experience in Data Engineering team.
• Ability & willingness to learn & work on diverse technologies (languages, frameworks, and tools).
• Self-motivated, good interpersonal skills and inclination to constantly upgrade on new technologies and frameworks.
• Good communication and co-ordination skills.

• Experience in Cloud Architectures.
• Knowledge/experience on Dynatrace, Splunk, Spark and Pyspark.

Knowledge/experience on No SQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).

• Some exposure to Caching technologies like Redis or Apache Ignite.

Exposure to Client Management or financial domain.
