Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES) and/or other spectrochemical testing equipment for ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Carry out routine and specialized chemical analysis of metals and alloys as per applicable standards (IS, ASTM, ISO, etc.).
Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results through proper calibration, validation, and use of reference standards.
Prepare, analyze, and interpret test reports with attention to precision and timelines.
Supervise sample preparation (grinding, polishing, cleaning) and ensure adherence to proper procedures.
Troubleshoot analytical issues with spectrometer equipment and coordinate with service engineers for preventive / corrective maintenance.
Ensure compliance with NABL / ISO 17025 requirements, maintaining proper documentation, records, and audit readiness.
Train and guide junior chemists/technicians in spectro testing methods and laboratory best practices.
Assist in method development, process improvements, and introduction of new testing capabilities.
Ensure adherence to safety procedures and proper handling of laboratory equipment and samples.
