Key Responsibilities: Operate and maintain Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES) and/or other spectrochemical testing equipment for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Carry out routine and specialized chemical analysis of metals and alloys as per applicable standards (IS, ASTM, ISO, etc.). Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results through proper calibration, validation, and use of reference standards. Prepare, analyze, and interpret test reports with attention to precision and timelines. Supervise sample preparation (grinding, polishing, cleaning) and ensure adherence to proper procedures. Troubleshoot analytical issues with spectrometer equipment and coordinate with service engineers for preventive / corrective maintenance.
