Sr Accountant - Tax

As a Sr. Tax Accountant at KBR, you will be responsible for initiating and preparing US federal, state, and local tax reports, returns, and other related information. You will be expected to solve complex problems using your detailed knowledge of the field and industry best practices. Your experience and problem-solving skills will play a crucial role in developing and improving processes, and you may also provide guidance to less experienced team members. Your key responsibilities will include: - Preparation of US income tax returns, including Forms 1120 (U.S. Corporation Income Tax Return), Form 1065 (U.S. Return of Partnership Income), and US International compliance work. - Reviewing returns of lower-tier analysts for accuracy and ensuring correct final submissions. - Analysis and reconciliation of deferred balances for US Income Tax Accounting. - Assisting with US federal, state, and local tax audits by gathering pertinent information and performing necessary analysis. - Actively researching process improvements to ensure efficiency. - Developing good working relationships within the company to ensure accurate data support. - Identifying opportunities for innovation and sharing ideas for transformation within the tax organization. To qualify for this role, you should have: - A Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance with a minimum of 4 years of experience. - CPA preferred or CPA eligible. - Working knowledge of financial systems such as SAP, Costpoint, Microsoft Dynamics, and Hyperion. - Familiarity with data analysis tools like Excel/Power BI, Alteryx, etc. - Work experience in a US-based multinational corporation's tax department. - Preferably experience with OneSource Income Tax (OIT) and Provision (OTP). - Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
