Job Description

The Senior Accountant position involves managing day-to-day accounting operations to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, support financial reporting, and audits. You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records across retail outlets and ensuring timely reporting. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate books of accounts in compliance with accounting standards, handling journal entries, ledgers, and bank reconciliations. You will oversee store-level accounting entries such as cash, credit, and daily sales reports, as well as manage petty cash and daily cash reconciliations for multiple outlets. In terms of GST and Taxation, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9), managing TDS, income tax, and other statutory deductions, and coordinating with tax consultants/auditors for statutory compliance. Additionally, you will reconcile inventory reports with accounts, track stock movement, damaged goods, shrinkage, and returns, and coordinate with the warehouse and store operations team for stock audits. You will also be involved in tracking credit terms, outstanding balances, and ageing analysis. For MIS & Reporting, you will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, support in P&L preparation, budget tracking, and cost analysis, and generate daily sales MIS, expense tracking, and profitability analysis per outlet. In terms of Audit & Internal Controls, you will support internal and external audits by providing required documentation, implement financial controls and SOPs for store-level transactions, and flag financial irregularities while suggesting process improvements. Key Requirements: - Education: B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / MBA (Finance). - Experience: 5-8 years of experience in accounting, preferably in retail or multi-outlet businesses. - Software Skills: Tally ERP, SAP, Zoho Books, or any ERP system. - MS Office: Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting. - Good knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards, GST, TDS, and other statutory compliances. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
