SQL Server Engineer

As a SQL Server Lead specializing in database migration projects to Oracle Cloud and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in Hyderabad, your primary responsibility will be to lead and execute seamless migrations from on-premises or other cloud environments to OCI and GCP. You will conduct detailed assessments of existing database setups, strategize migration plans, and execute migrations with minimal disruption to business operations. Collaborating closely with cloud architects, IT security, and operations teams, you will design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available database solutions on OCI and GCP. Your role will also involve optimizing database performance by implementing cloud best practices such as cost optimization, scalability, and disaster recovery strategies. Ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations throughout the migration process will be crucial. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining documentation for database architectures, migration processes, and operational procedures. Providing technical expertise and support for database design, deployment, management, and troubleshooting in cloud environments will be essential. You will collaborate with application development teams to guarantee optimal database performance and integration with cloud-native services. Staying updated on new features and technologies within OCI and GCP to enhance database capabilities will be part of your continuous learning process. Key Skills and Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - Proven DBA experience with a focus on migrating databases to cloud platforms, specifically Oracle Cloud and GCP. - Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices. - Familiarity with various RDBMS like Oracle Database, MS SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. - Hands-on experience in migrating databases from on-premises to cloud, particularly with Oracle Database, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MSSQL. - Experience with cloud services related to databases in OCI and GCP, such as Oracle Autonomous Database, Google Cloud SQL, and Google Cloud Spanner. - Knowledge of cloud security, networking, and infrastructure as it pertains to database services. - Proficiency in database scripting and automation tools for migration and maintenance tasks. - Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills. - Certifications in Oracle Cloud and Google Cloud Platform are highly desirable.
