Key Responsibilities

  • Perform data migration from Microsoft SQL Server to target databases (on-premises or cloud).
  • Analyze existing database structures, dependencies, and stored procedures.
  • Create and optimize scripts, queries, and ETL processes for smooth migration.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security during migration.
  • Perform pre- and post-migration validation and testing.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to performance, compatibility, and schema mapping.
  • Work with stakeholders to plan migration timelines and minimize downtime.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with

    MS SQL Server (2012/2016/2019)

    .
  • Expertise in

    SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, indexing, and performance tuning

    .
  • Experience with

    database backup, restore, replication, and migration tools

    .
  • Familiarity with

    ETL tools

    (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Talend, or similar).
  • Understanding of

    cloud databases

    (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or others) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of

    other RDBMS

    (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience in

    data transformation / cleansing

  • Exposure to

    DevOps & automation scripts

    (PowerShell, Python, or shell scripting).
