Job Summary

SQL Senior System Administrator / SQL Tech Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain

  Azure SQL Database

  and

  Azure SQL Managed Instances

• Perform regular

  backup and restore

  operations, including automation and recovery testing
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot

  stored procedures

• Manage

  database clusters

  , including setup, configuration, and health monitoring
• Implement

  user and role management

  with

  RBAC

• Set up and manage

  High Availability (HA)

  and

  Disaster Recovery (DR)

  solutions
• Plan and execute

  SQL database migrations

  with minimal downtime
• Optimize databases using

  indexing, partitioning, and query optimization

• Administer

  on-prem SQL Server (2014, 2016, 2022)

  environments
• Conduct

  performance tuning and query optimization

• Schedule and manage

  SQL jobs

  for automation and maintenance
• Collaborate with development teams on database design and performance
  
• Monitor database performance and provide

  capacity planning recommendations

• Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical leadership
  
• Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging DBA trends
  

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  

• 8+ years

  of experience in database administration

• 6+ years

  hands-on experience with SQL databases
• Strong expertise in

  backup, restore, and recovery

• Proficiency in

  stored procedures

  and troubleshooting
• Experience with

  database clusters and RBAC

• Strong knowledge of

  HA/DR architectures

• Proven experience in

  SQL migration and optimization

• Advanced skills in

  performance tuning, query optimization, and job scheduling

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  

Preferred Skills

• SQL Server or database-related certifications
  
• Exposure to

  AWS or Google Cloud Platform

• Knowledge of additional database technologies
  
• Strong understanding of

  database security best practices
