SQL DBA

NTT DATA is looking for an SQL DBA to join their team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing critical SQL Server RDBMS systems to ensure the availability and consistent performance of client applications. You will need strong technical skills along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to succeed in this hands-on position. As an SQL Server DBA, your duties will include managing databases across various lifecycle environments, configuring and maintaining database servers, monitoring system health and performance, tuning database performance, and planning, deploying, and troubleshooting high-availability database environments. You will also be responsible for analyzing and resolving issues in real time, automating processes for efficiency, providing 24x7 support for production systems, and collaborating with end customers and technical resources. To qualify for this position, you must have experience in SQL Server administration in an enterprise environment, performance tuning and optimization, backups, restores, recovery models, incident and problem queue management, and familiarity with HA and DR options for SQL Server. Additionally, knowledge of Windows server, Active Directory, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently in a dynamic environment are essential. Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with scripting, SSIS, SSRS, T-SQL, logical DBA activities, complex query tuning, and relevant certifications like MCTS, MCITP, and MVP. A Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is required for this role.
