SQL Database Administrator with Unix scripting skills

🛠️ Core Responsibilities

  • Database Management

    : Install, configure, and maintain SQL databases (like Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

  • Performance Tuning

    : Optimize queries, indexes, and server configurations.

  • Backup & Recovery

    : Automate backups and ensure disaster recovery plans are solid.

  • Security

    : Manage user access, encryption, and compliance.

  • Unix Scripting

    : Use shell scripts to automate tasks like backups, monitoring, and data transfers.

💡 Why Unix Scripting Matters

Unix scripting (Bash, Ksh, etc.) lets you:

  • Automate repetitive DBA tasks
  • Schedule jobs via cron
  • Parse logs and monitor system health
  • Interface with command-line database tools (like sqlplus, mysql, or psql)
