The Role
New Specialty Doctor posts in General Adult Psychiatry are available within the Borders Adult Community Mental Health Teams in the Scottish Borders. The successful applicants will provide medical support to the General Psychiatry service for these Sectors of the Scottish Borders, delivering care and promoting a multi-disciplinary/multi-agency approach. The successful applicant would be working in a Multi-disciplinary team made up of psychiatrists, resident doctors, clinical psychologists, clinical nurse specialist, community mental health nurses, occupational therapists, health care support workers, peer support workers. As part of the job plans, a range of subspecialty, service leadership and other experiences can be included, depending on the interests and skills of the applicant. This is an opportunity for forward-thinking doctors to contribute to the further development of our services in order to provide the best psychiatric care to adult patients within NHS Borders Mental Health Services.You must have full registration with the GMC with a licence to practice with adequate postgraduate training and/or Psychiatry specialty training programme experience (or equivalent). Applicants should be an Approved Medical Practitioner or willing to gain approval once in post.
