Job Description

Role & responsibilities Mechanical Defect Analysis Field Mechanical Defect Analysis : Conduct thorough analysis of mechanical defects in the field, identify root causes, and develop solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams (CFT). Root Cause Analysis (RCA) : Perform RCA to understand the underlying issues causing mechanical defects and implement corrective actions. Field Visits and Issue Understanding Field Visits : Regularly visit field locations to gain first-hand understanding of issues and gather necessary data for RCA. Customer and Service Engineer Interaction : Engage with service engineers and customers to gather detailed insights about field issues. Simulation and Product Benchmarking Simulation of Field Conditions : Recreate field defects under simulated conditions to better understand their causes and possible solutions. Product Benchmarking : Conduct benchmarking activities to compare products against competitors and identify areas for improvement. New Product Development and Improvement Support New Product Development : Provide technical support during the development of new products, ensuring potential field issues are addressed. RCA for New Launches and Upgrades : Implement RCA actions for new product launches and upgrades to ensure reliability and performance. Raise Engineering Change Notices (ECN) : Identify new field issues and raise ECNs to initiate improvements. Test Setup and Requirement Identification Identify New Test Setups : Determine the need for new test setups to effectively conduct RCA. Reverse Engineering Requirements : Prioritize reverse engineering requirements for effective RCA activities. Reporting and Documentation Microsoft Excel Proficiency : Utilize Excel for data analysis, reporting, and maintaining detailed records of field issues and RCA activities. Travel and Experience Field Experience : Leverage experience in the consumer durable field to enhance understanding and resolution of issues. Travel Requirements : Be prepared to travel up to 20% of the time to conduct field visits and gather insights. Preferred candidate profile Technical Proficiency : Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and defect analysis techniques. Analytical Skills : Ability to perform detailed RCA and develop effective solutions. Communication Skills : Effective communication with service engineers, customers, and cross-functional teams. Microsoft Excel : Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting. Field Experience : Experience in the consumer durable field is a significant advantage. Willingness to Travel : Ability and willingness to travel as needed to conduct field visits and gather data.
