Internal Communications Specialist

Role Summary
The Internal Communications Specialist will be responsible for creating clear, engaging, and audience-specific communication materials that support organizational objectives. This role includes event planning, content development, and brand compliance to ensure consistent messaging for employees across the company. The position requires strong writing skills, organizational ability, and collaboration with multiple teams to deliver impactful internal communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and edit internal communication materials tailored to specific audiences and business goals.
- Produce a range of content, including executive memos, policies, campaigns, announcements, newsletters, and global employee communications.
- Plan, coordinate, and host internal events for both remote and on-site employees using virtual event and collaboration tools.
- Create presentation and creative collateral to support events and announcements.
- Provide administrative and organizational support to the department.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure materials are clear, accurate, and brand-compliant.
- Advise management on communication strategies that enhance the impact of events and materials.
- Conduct brand adherence checks and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Create concise news briefs for executives and decision-makers.
Must Have
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in internal communications or a related field.
- Experience producing a variety of written materials for different internal audiences.
- Event planning and coordination experience for remote and in-person formats.
Exposure
- Working with multiple departments and senior leaders to deliver communication initiatives.
- Using virtual collaboration and event tools (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom, or similar).
Expertise
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and basic graphic design tools.
- Ability to adapt messaging to suit audience needs and business objectives.
School (Education)
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
Good to Have
- Familiarity with AP Style.
- Experience supporting brand initiatives within an internal communications context.
- Knowledge of measuring the effectiveness of employee communication strategies.

- Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 3+ years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
