Were looking for an experienced . As a CDI Specialist, you will review clinical documentation in electronic health records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with coding standards. You will issue compliant queries to physicians and collaborate with internal teams to support documentation integrity.

Key Skills Required:

Strong hands-on experience Perform concurrent reviews of inpatient records using EHR platforms (e.g., Iodine, Epic)

Identify documentation gaps and issue compliant, patient-specific queries

Apply knowledge of DRG classification, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and coding guidelines

Maintain accurate logs of reviews, query status, and follow-ups in designated systems

Achieve productivity and quality benchmarks under the CDI program

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, or equivalent

3–6 years of experience in medical coding or CDI in an acute care or RCM setting (some type of coding experience required, in-patient coding experience highly preferred)

• Inpatient Clinical Documentation Integrity/Improvement experience**

• Inpatient hospital clinical critical care experience (examples include hands on patient experience in the Emergency Department, Critical Care, and Med/Surg units)

• Inpatient hospital coding, including the MS-DRG structure

• Inpatient CDI experience (not HCC or physician office-based)

• Clinical knowledge (e.g., sepsis, pneumonia, CHF, respiratory failure)

• Strong understanding of DRG assignment and optimization

• Experience reviewing inpatient medical records

• Familiarity with ICD-10-CM/PCS coding

• Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS/CDIP) or AHIMA/AAPC credential

• Proficiency with ICD-10, DRG grouping, and query compliance practices

• Strong communication, analytical, and clinical interpretation skills
