Job Description

You will be responsible for preparing traditional South Indian dishes such as dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, and a variety of chutneys. Your role will involve following established recipes to ensure consistency and quality, managing kitchen ingredients, maintaining a clean work area, and presenting dishes in an appealing manner. You will need to work efficiently during peak hours, collaborate with other kitchen staff, and ensure that cooking appliances and utensils are properly maintained. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare traditional South Indian meals including dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, and a variety of chutneys. - Follow established recipes to ensure consistency and quality; accommodate dietary preferences when needed. - Manage kitchen ingredients, maintain proper inventory levels, and ensure freshness. - Present dishes in an appealing and aesthetically pleasing manner. - Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with food safety standards. - Prepare dishes efficiently during peak hours, collaborate with kitchen staff, and maintain cooking appliances. - Optional: Interact with customers or waitstaff to accommodate special requests or dietary needs. Requirements: - Proven experience as a South Indian cook specializing in traditional dishes. - Strong knowledge of South Indian spices, cooking techniques, and ingredients. - Ability to work in high-volume settings while maintaining food quality. - Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards. - Efficient kitchen task management in a fast-paced environment. - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. - Strong organizational, time management skills, and positive team attitude. - Optional: Certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience.
