Sourcing Engineer

As an Advanced Sourcing Engineer at HARTING, you will play a crucial role in various Strategic Procurement activities. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing vendors for Aluminium, Zinc Die castings, Injection molding (Plastic & Rubber), Sheet metal fabrication, Machining & C-Class parts based on technical, quality, and commercial criteria. - Collaborating with engineering and design teams to ensure supplier capabilities align with project needs. - Leading supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management processes. - Generating RFQ/RFP for mechanical components related to NPD projects. - Coordinating vendor & Product development team for technical clarification. - Driving cost reduction initiatives through value engineering and supplier development. - Managing supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, and compliance to company standards. - Supporting new product introduction (NPI) & LCM products by coordinating supplier readiness and ramp-up activities. - Resolving supplier-related issues, including quality concerns, delivery delays, and capacity constraints for all NPD projects. - Evaluating suppliers (technical/commercial) and supporting in supplier audit/assessments. - Staying updated on market trends, new technologies, and best practices in sourcing and supply chain management. Qualifications required for this role: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Basic Skills: - Strong technical understanding of mechanical/electrical components and manufacturing processes. - Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. - Ability to travel as required for supplier visits and audits. Functional specific Skills: - Proven experience in sourcing, procurement, or supplier development, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment. - Proficiency in MS Office and SAP S/4 HANA.
