Software Test Engineer

As a Software Test Engineer at WCS India, your role involves evaluating software functions through the design of test protocols and test automation. You will collaborate closely with the DevOps team to ensure the necessary infrastructure is in place for testing and managing the CI/CD pipeline. Additionally, you will provide guidance to software engineers on expanding unit testing coverage while being knowledgeable in Test Driven Development. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the testing environment by developing a program for automated testing to eliminate manual testing and ensure release quality. - Design and implement improvements to test automation infrastructures to enhance reliability, scalability, performance, and repeatability of setup and deployment. - Validate tools and test plans for conducting software testing. - Provide detailed configuration, reproduction steps, and descriptions for defect tracking. - Automate test scripts based on manual test cases using the page object model and a data-driven approach. - Provide accurate estimates during grooming sessions and prioritize workload based on business-driven sprints. - Perform manual testing and file bug reports according to QA practices as needed. - Collaborate with multiple teams across the organization including Software Development, Product team, DevOps, and UI. - Create testing tools to expedite the testing process and maintain a high level of detail orientation. - Update test scripts promptly when a production issue is identified. Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java/Python/Ruby or another scripting/programming language. - Experience working in a Test-Driven Development environment. - Proficiency with Selenium and Appium. - Familiarity with configuration management, defect tracking, test plans, test protocols, and test execution. - Strong knowledge of Docker and CI/CD pipelines. - Experience with source control management tools. - Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation. - Self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a team.
