Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning & Strategy:
Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and create detailed test plans.
Define test objectives, scope, and resource requirements for both manual and automated testing.
Develop and document comprehensive test strategies and methodologies for different stages of the software development lifecycle.
Test Case Design & Execution:
Create, design, and execute
manual test cases
to validate functionality, usability, and performance of software applications.
Develop automated test scripts using appropriate testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit).
Conduct various types of testing, including
functional, regression, integration, system, user acceptance (UAT), performance, and security testing
.
Ensure all test cases align with business requirements and acceptance criteria.
Bug Identification & Reporting:
Identify, document, and track defects in defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
Reproduce bugs and collaborate with developers to resolve issues efficiently.
Verify fixes and perform regression testing to ensure that no new defects are introduced.
Provide clear, concise, and detailed defect reports, including steps to reproduce and expected vs actual results.
Test Automation & Framework Development:
Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for functional and regression testing.
Develop and optimize testing frameworks to improve the efficiency of test automation.
Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous testing.
Performance & Load Testing:
Conduct
performance testing
to ensure software applications meet performance, scalability, and load requirements.
Use tools like
JMeter
,
LoadRunner
, or others to simulate traffic and test application performance under various conditions.
Identify performance bottlenecks and work with developers to improve system performance.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with development teams to understand system architecture, code changes, and potential impacts on testing.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development and testing practices.
Communicate test progress, results, and issues to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
Ensure alignment between development and testing teams to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed documentation for test cases, test execution, and defect reports.
Provide test summary reports that highlight the quality of the product, including coverage, issues, and potential risks.
Continuously improve test documentation based on lessons learned from previous testing cycles.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and tools in the software testing domain.
Identify areas for process improvements and propose new testing methodologies or tools to enhance the testing process.
Participate in retrospectives and post-mortem meetings to help improve testing processes
