Software Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer at Red Hat in Pune, India, you will play a crucial role in writing new and optimizing existing test automation scripts and frameworks. Your responsibilities will include: - Testing new features to ensure fast feedback for developers - Creating and maintaining testing artifacts - Writing automated test scripts, analyzing test results, and identifying and filing bugs accordingly - Testing bugs and writing bug reproducers - Writing API and Performance test scripts To excel in this role, you should bring: - 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering - Hands-on experience writing code in at least one programming language, preferably Python, Java, or JavaScript - Strong understanding of HTTP communication protocols - Expertise in testing and working with RESTful APIs - Proficiency in API test automation - Experience building and testing systems designed to handle large datasets, with attention to performance and scalability - Familiarity with distributed systems and an understanding of challenges related to consistency, availability, and partitioning - Solid grasp of core testing concepts, including functional, sanity, regression testing, etc. - Excellent observation skills with a strong attention to detail - Self-motivated with the ability to take direction and collaborate effectively within a team - Eagerness to learn new technologies and apply problem-solving skills - Decision-making skills on day-to-day development - Intermediate written and verbal communication skills in English - Good to have experience with Apache Solr, Indexing, RestAssured, Python, AI/ML Red Hat is a global leader in enterprise open source software solutions, utilizing a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing technologies.
