Software QA Tester

Position Overview:

The Software QA Tester is responsible for validating software functionality by executing test cases, identifying defects, and ensuring that all delivered features meet defined acceptance criteria. This role focuses primarily on manual testing activities and requires strong attention to detail, disciplined execution, and clear documentation skills.

Key Responsibilities

-Execute predefined manual test cases across application features

-Perform positive and negative testing to validate system behavior

-Conduct regression, smoke, and release-cycle testing

-Identify, document, and track software defects with clear reproduction steps

-Validate expected vs. actual results and report discrepancies

-Capture screenshots, logs, or video evidence for defects

-Update test execution status accurately in tracking systems

-Communicate progress, risks, and blockers to the QA lead or team

Core Competencies

-Understanding of test case execution and testing fundamentals

-Knowledge of functional vs. non-functional testing

-Familiarity with regression testing concepts

-Ability to follow structured QA processes and workflows

Technical Skills

-Manual test execution on Windows-based environments

-Experience using defect and task tracking tools (e.g., Wrike or similar)

-Ability to adapt to versioned releases and frequent product updates

-Basic understanding of software development and QA lifecycle
