Software Engineer - Sybase Development - ALMT IT

To contribute as a programmer on application development, enhancements, maintenance and support activities for multiple applications across all SDLC phases.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

Design and develop procedural programming solutions when the solutions demand so

Should be able to write queries using complex joins, filter criteria, type cast when required

Design and develop SQL queries for the interfacing solutions required

Write Database code using the best practices whenever possible and help in tuning and refactoring legacy database code

Carry out SQL tuning whenever required to ensure the queries are performing optimally

Should be able to debug issues in SQL queries or any of the database constructs

Should carry out detailed unit testing based on the scenarios provided.

Should be comfortable to work using Database development tools

Should be able to create technical documentation.

Should be able to work on the basic Unix shell scripting commands required for accessing the various project components deployed on server or while launching the interfaces or for any adhoc scripting required to process the output.

Contributing Responsibilities

Should participate in stand ups and contribute to various project and organizational processes defined

Would be good to have IT experience in Finance domain

Mandatory Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge on Sybase ASE/ IQ Database SQL writing and procedural programming

Good Understanding on CI/CD Pipeline

Good knowledge of version control tools, preferably Bitbucket / SVN

Good knowledge on middleware messaging platforms like IBM WebSphere MQ, JMS, etc.

Basic Knowledge on Linux/Unix environment (basic commands, shell scripting, etc.)

Ability & willingness to learn & work on diverse technologies (languages, frameworks, and tools)

Good understanding of complete Software Development Lifecycle

Good knowledge on replication work flow.

Self-motivated, good interpersonal skills and inclination to constantly upgrade on new technologies and frameworks.

Good Communication Skills

Basic of Power Builder
