The Public Relations Officer (PRO) is responsible for managing the public image of the hospital, promoting the hospital's services, handling media relations, and ensuring effective communication between the hospital and external stakeholders. Your role also includes playing a critical part in enhancing patient satisfaction by addressing feedback and promoting the hospital's values through effective communication strategies. Your key responsibilities will involve developing and implementing a communication strategy that includes media outreach and social media content creation. You will be required to maintain relationships with media outlets, respond to media inquiries, and arrange press releases, interviews, and press conferences as needed. Monitoring media coverage and reporting on its impact will also be part of your duties. As the PRO, you will act as a liaison between the hospital and patients, ensuring smooth communication and timely responses to concerns. Collaboration with other departments to ensure consistent messaging in all public-facing materials and keeping the hospital's website and social media platforms updated with relevant information will be essential. Organizing and managing hospital events such as health camps, workshops, and community outreach programs will fall under your responsibilities. Additionally, overseeing the planning of hospital conferences, patient education sessions, and other events to promote hospital services in alignment with strategic goals will be crucial. Addressing patient concerns and complaints, implementing patient satisfaction surveys, and collecting feedback to improve services will also be part of your role. You will need to communicate hospital policies, procedures, and any updates to patients and their families in a clear and empathetic manner. Assisting in the development of promotional materials, collaborating with the marketing team, and maintaining the hospital's brand identity through consistent messaging in all communication channels are key aspects of the PRO position. You will also be responsible for crisis management, including developing and implementing communication plans for emergencies or incidents that could impact the hospital's reputation. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Additionally, having 2-5 years of experience in public relations, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting, is desired. Skills required for this position include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong writing and editing abilities, proficiency in managing media relations and social media, strong organizational skills, crisis management skills, and familiarity with patient rights and healthcare regulations.
