Software Engineer (Application Engineering) – Systems

WHAT YOU WILL DO DAY-TO-DAY:You will architect, design, and maintain cloud‐native systems,leveraging Kubernetes and containerized deployments in on‐premisesenvironments. You will develop, package, and deploy containerizedapplications, manage workloads on Kubernetes (including Helm charts,Operators, and custom controllers), and design and implement APIs,microservices, and internal libraries using modern languages such as Goand Python. You will engineer and evolve core infrastructure servicessuch as package management systems, centralized authorizationsolutions, and specialized web frameworks to accelerate applicationdevelopment across the firm. Your responsibilities will also includeimplementing CI/CD pipelines, integrating observability solutions,enforcing security best practices, and engineering systems to meetdemanding performance, scalability, and availability targets. You willcollaborate closely with developers and other technology teams, mentorjunior engineers, and lead technical design reviews to ensure oursolutions are robust, efficient, and aligned with firmwide standards.

Basic Qualifications

─ A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a relatedfield, with 4–7 years of software engineering experience, includingsubstantial hands-on work with on-premises Kubernetes clustersand container-based systems─ Proven expertise in on-premises Kubernetes clusteradministration, container orchestration, and deploymentstrategies─ Robust proficiency in software development, with expertise inprogramming using Python and/or Go─ Familiarity with Linux systems administration─ Experience working with monitoring and logging platforms suchas Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack─ Robust problem-solving and critical thinking abilities─ Excellent communication and collaboration skills─ The ability to apply software engineering principles and designpatterns effectively in a production setting
