As a Software Developer at the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Team, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to developing cutting-edge solutions addressing sustainability challenges. Your role will involve working on projects integrating AI/ML, renewable energy systems, smart grid technology, water management, waste reduction, e-mobility, and sustainable agriculture. Join us in creating a more sustainable future through innovative technology. **Key Responsibilities:** - Developing and maintaining high-quality web applications using Python frameworks such as Django or Flask - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements for new features - Designing and implementing scalable and efficient code following best practices - Performing code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability - Troubleshooting and providing timely resolutions to technical challenges - Optimizing application performance through tuning and code optimization - Staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends - Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes - Providing support to various IIHS activities and participating in Institution-Building tasks - Reporting to the Manager Information Technology and collaborating with internal teams, external individuals/organizations, and students **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - 3-5 years of experience in Python web application development - Proficiency in Python programming and frameworks like Django or Flask - Strong understanding of web development concepts, HTTP, RESTful APIs, and MVC architecture - Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks/libraries (React, Angular, Vue.js) - Familiarity with database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) - Knowledge of software development best practices, version control (Git), code reviews, and unit testing - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), containerization technologies (Docker), orchestration tools (Kubernetes), and agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) - Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment, and open-source projects - Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and in a team, and excellent communication skills Please note that this position is based in Bengaluru and may involve travel within India.
