About the Role:

Software Technical Architect with deep, hands-on experience across the full software lifecycle and a strong background in modern web technologies, cloud infrastructure, and scalable system design. This role is ideal for someone who not only loves designing clean, extensible architectures but also enjoys diving into code, mentoring others, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Youll be expected to lead by examplebringing best practices, forward-thinking solutions, and a willingness to experiment with emerging tech (especially AI-driven tools). Your work will be instrumental in shaping large-scale, high-traffic e-commerce platforms used by major clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and design scalable, secure, and maintainable systems across multiple projects.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders, product owners, scrum teams, and developers to define and drive technical vision and execution.
• Remain deeply hands-on: review code, contribute to critical components, guide dev teams on implementation details.
• Lead technical discovery and R&D initiatives, particularly around new AI tools and platforms that can accelerate development or provide product value.
• Drive DevOps and infrastructure best practices using AWS, Docker, Cloudflare, CI/CD pipelines, etc.
• Mentor team members, foster a strong engineering culture, and promote continuous learning.
• Own the architectural integrity of e-commerce platforms across their entire lifecycle—from product catalog to checkout to post-order operations.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability are top of mind in all stages of development.
• Champion security, compliance, and data protection standards across services and infrastructure.
• Strong team player mindset—takes ownership, leads by example, and uplifts the team.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years in software development with significant experience in architecture and hands-on delivery over the whole software lifecycle.
• 7+ years Proven experience designing and scaling high-traffic systems, preferably e-commerce platforms.
• 5+ years Expertise in modern development stacks: React JS, NestJS, Next.js, GraphQL, TypeScript, Node.js, Git, GraphQL NX, REST APIs, AWS (S3, SQS, Kinesis etc), Docker, etc.
• Deep understanding of system design, software architecture patterns, and microservices.
• Proficiency in database modeling, schema design, and data architecture for relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational (MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases and have hands on experience with ORMs like Prisma or Sequelize including migrations, relations, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture, message queues (SNS/SQS, Kafka, or similar), and pub/sub systems.
• Knowledge of caching strategies, index optimization, and query performance analysis.
• Experience with testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E) and TDD practices.
• Familiarity with observability stacks (Datadog, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Hands-on integration with third-party services: payment providers, auth systems (OAuth2, JWT), CRM/ERP tools, etc.
• Strong understanding of security best practices.
• Experience with audit logging, access control layers, and data governance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills—comfortable discussing architecture and trade-offs with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Passion for learning and leveraging AI tools, automation, and emerging technologies to improve developer efficiency and user experience.
• Document technical architectures and solutions, including diagrams and flowcharts.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with headless commerce or composable architecture.
• Background in multi-tenant architecture, multi-region deployments, or internationalization/localization at scale.
• Prior work with cost optimization strategies in the cloud.
• Experience using AI tools (e.g., LLMs, vector databases, RAG systems) in practical development workflows or product features.
