Job Title: Configuration Management Consultant

Role Overview:

MD Server Administration

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of Configuration Management and ensure compliance with defined processes.
• Ensure all Service Providers maintain accurate and current CMDB entries through audits and inspections.
• Maintain CMDB integrity and integration with key operational processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
• Collaborate with Service Providers for audits, impact assessments, investigations, and discrepancy resolution.
• Manage CI lifecycle and ensure accurate reflection in the CMDB.
• Consolidate and publish Configuration Management reports.
• Implement agreed data models and attribute amendments.
• Integrate CMDB with internal and external data sources; define data ownership for BAU updates.
• Coordinate creation and management of Service” CIs and their relationships (non-discoverable services).
• Provide guidance to internal and external Service Providers on Configuration Management roles and responsibilities.
• Identify and implement process improvements, CMDB/Discovery tools, ITSM platform, and integration enhancements.
• Review Configuration Management KPIs/SLAs regularly and drive improvements.
• Conduct regular monitoring and audits to prevent unauthorized CMDB changes and ensure compliance.
• Perform ServiceNow testing for enhancements, new functionality, and upgrades; document test results and defects.
• Handle BAU tasks from tickets within defined SLAs.
• Collaborate with process owners for improvements, enhancements, and training to improve compliance.

• Administer MD Servers and ensure their integration with CMDB and ITSM processes.

• Implement and maintain CSDM (Common Service Data Model) standards within ServiceNow CMDB.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience in

  Configuration Management

  and

  CMDB administration

  within ServiceNow.
• Hands-on experience with

  MD Server Administration

  .
• Proven track record of

  CSDM implementation

  and service modeling in ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
• Experience with CMDB audits, data integrity, and lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow Discovery, integrations, and ITSM modules.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ITIL Foundation or higher certification.
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – CMDB or Discovery.
• Experience in large-scale IT environments with multiple service providers.
