Job Title: Site Supervisor – Structural & Equipment

Summary:

Experienced Site Supervisor with expertise in structural steel fabrication, erection, and installation of static and rotating equipment. Skilled in supervising field construction activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. Proven ability to coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, and subcontractors to achieve timely and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Site Supervision & Execution

  • Supervise and monitor daily construction activities related to structural steel erection, equipment installation, and alignment.
  • Ensure that all site works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Review and interpret structural and equipment installation drawings and ensure correct implementation in the field.
  • Oversee erection of platforms, pipe racks, supports, tanks, and heavy equipment foundations.
  • Plan and coordinate crane activities, rigging, and lifting operations for heavy equipment installation.

2. Coordination & Planning

  • Coordinate with project engineers, QC inspectors, and safety officers to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with standards.
  • Monitor manpower, materials, and equipment availability to avoid delays.
  • Prepare daily progress reports and update the construction manager on site issues and progress.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and ensure timely completion of assigned works.

3. Equipment Installation

  • Supervise installation, leveling, and alignment of static and rotating equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, vessels).
  • Ensure grouting, foundation preparation, and bolt tightening are performed as per approved procedures.
  • Verify installation tolerances using precision instruments (e.g., dial gauges, theodolite, laser alignment tools).

4. Quality & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure all structural and equipment installation works meet quality standards and inspection requirements.
  • Support QA/QC teams during inspections and assist in resolving punch list items.
  • Enforce site safety rules and participate in toolbox talks and HSE meetings.
  • Identify potential hazards and take corrective measures to prevent accidents.

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain records of daily work progress, manpower, and equipment utilization.
  • Ensure as-built documentation is updated in coordination with engineering.
  • Assist in preparing handover and completion reports for structural and equipment works.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of structural steel erection, rigging, and equipment installation procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and P&IDs.
  • Hands-on experience with lifting plans, rigging tools, and alignment techniques.
  • Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiar with HSE regulations and quality control practices at construction sites.

Educational Qualification:

  • Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • Certification in Rigging & Lifting or Construction Supervision (preferred)
  • HSE training (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent) is an advantage
