Site Supervisor / Site In-Charge (Electrical)

Role & responsibilities

Site Execution & Supervision

• Supervise and execute electrical works for 11 kV and up to 33 kV substations.
• Ensure work execution as per approved GA drawings, SLDs, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal project teams.

Erection, Testing & Commissioning

• Oversee erection of HT/LT panels, transformers, structures, cable laying, termination, and earthing.
• Assist in testing and commissioning activities as per standards and client requirements.
• Ensure compliance with safety and statutory norms at site.

Manpower & Work Planning

• Manage site manpower including technicians, electricians, and subcontractors.
• Prepare daily work plans and monitor productivity and progress.
• Ensure timely completion of activities with quality standards.

Material Management

• Plan material requirements based on drawings, BOQ, and tender scope.
• Handle material receipt, storage, and issue at site.
• Maintain material consumption records and control wastage.

Documentation & Authority Coordination

• Prepare and maintain site documents such as DPRs, inspection reports, and commissioning records.
• Coordinate with government authorities and utilities for inspections and approvals.
• Support statutory documentation and project handover requirements.

Tender & Drawing Understanding

• Understand tender documents, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Plan work execution and material requirements as per tender scope.
• Identify site constraints and inform the project team proactively.

Client & Internal Coordination

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and inspectors at site.
• Attend site meetings, inspections, and audits.
• Report progress and issues to the Project Manager / Head Office.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience in 11 kV substation projects; exposure up to 33 kV preferred.
• Knowledge of erection, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Ability to handle manpower and subcontractors.
• Understanding of tender documents, drawings, and material planning.
• Knowledge of government authority documentation and approvals.
• Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, email reporting).
