Job Description: Site Supervisor – Motor Maintenance

Location: Bhilai Steel Plant, Chhattisgarh
Qualification: B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Experience: Minimum 4 years as Maintenance Supervisor
Salary Range: ₹18,000 – ₹20,000 per month

Position Overview

The Site Supervisor will assist in managing daily motor maintenance activities at the Bhilai Steel Plant. The role requires good technical knowledge of electrical motors and hands-on experience in supervising maintenance teams, ensuring timely task completion, and maintaining safety standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities1. Maintenance Supervision

• Supervise daily preventive and breakdown maintenance of LT/HT motors.
• Support troubleshooting activities such as motor faults, vibrations, alignment issues, overheating, and insulation problems.
• Ensure maintenance tasks are carried out as per standard procedures.

2. Work Allocation & Team Coordination

• Assign work to technicians and helpers based on daily requirements.
• Monitor progress and ensure timely completion of jobs.
• Coordinate with senior engineers and Site Incharge for maintenance planning.

3. Inspection & Monitoring

• Conduct routine inspections of motors and related equipment.
• Identify potential issues and report them immediately to the Site Incharge.
• Ensure proper use of tools, testing equipment, and safety gear.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily reports, job completion logs, and attendance records.
• Update motor maintenance registers and assist in preparing periodic reports.
• Track and report material and spare part requirements.

5. Safety Compliance

• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with plant safety rules.
• Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks with the team.
• Enforce the use of PPE and safe work practices (LOTO, electrical safety, etc.).

6. Client Coordination

• Communicate with plant officials for work permissions and site updates.
• Assist in resolving site-level issues and ensure smooth operations.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical motor operation and maintenance.
• Good understanding of preventive and breakdown maintenance practices.
• Ability to supervise a team effectively.
• Basic knowledge of electrical safety standards.
• Good communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
