Site Supervisor - Networking Support

Role & responsibilities

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise Network Installations & Setup:

  Lead the installation and configuration of network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, ensuring that all hardware and software meet project specifications.

• Network Support & Troubleshooting:

  Provide on-site troubleshooting and support for network-related issues, including connectivity problems, performance issues, or hardware malfunctions, and ensure issues are resolved promptly.

• Site Coordination:

  Coordinate all site activities related to network installation, configuration, and maintenance. Ensure the appropriate technical resources (staff, equipment, and materials) are available and properly utilized.

• Team Supervision:

  Supervise and guide technical support teams on-site, providing direction on best practices for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Ensure the team adheres to safety protocols and quality standards.

• Monitoring & Maintenance:

  Monitor network performance on-site and assist in the ongoing maintenance and upgrading of network systems, ensuring that networks remain secure and fully functional.

• Client Communication:

  Serve as the main point of contact for clients on-site. Address their technical concerns, provide status updates, and ensure that client expectations are met regarding network performance and support.

• Documentation:

  Maintain accurate and detailed records of all work performed on-site, including installation logs, configuration changes, and troubleshooting actions taken. Prepare regular reports on project progress and network status.

• Quality Assurance:

  Ensure that all networking installations and configurations are completed to high standards and comply with industry best practices and safety regulations.

• Network Security:

  Implement and monitor network security measures to prevent unauthorized access and ensure the safety of the network and data.

• Troubleshooting and Escalation:

  Handle escalated issues that require advanced technical expertise and collaborate with senior engineers or network specialists for complex problem resolution.

• Inventory & Equipment Management:

  Oversee the management of network equipment and inventory on-site, ensuring that all materials and tools are accounted for and used efficiently.

Preferred candidate profile

• Proven technical experience in networking,
• Ability to read and understand network diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Hands-on experience with network cabling, fiber optics, and basic network hardware installation.
• Ability to provide technical support, including diagnosing and solving network-related issues on-site.
• Strong organizational and team management skills, with experience leading technical teams in a site environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for client interactions and team coordination.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Any educational qualification (preferred but not mandatory
• Prior experience in a technical support role or network installation/supervision role is highly preferred.
• Willingness to travel to different client sites as required.
