Job Description

As a Site Reliability Engineer at our company, you will be working on Qualys Cloud Platform & Middleware technologies as part of a team of engineers and architects. Your role will involve a combination of software development and systems engineering skills to build and maintain scalable, distributed, and fault-tolerant systems. Your key responsibilities will include: - Writing software to improve day-to-day operations through automation, monitoring, alerting, testing, and deployment. - Collaborating in the full lifecycle development of cloud platform services, from design to deployment, operation, and enhancement. - Enhancing the effectiveness, reliability, and performance of cloud platform technologies by identifying key indicators, implementing automated changes, and evaluating outcomes. - Supporting the cloud platform team in pre-production activities such as system design, capacity planning, automation of key deployments, and establishing a strategy for monitoring and alerting. You will also be responsible for advising the team on improving system reliability, scaling as needed, supporting new features and releases, and taking ownership of the cloud platform technologies. Additionally, you will develop tools for large scale provisioning and deployment, participate in on-call rotations, lead incident responses, and contribute to postmortem analysis reports for continuous improvement.
