1. Role Overview

The Solar Incharge will be responsible for overall operations, maintenance, performance monitoring, manpower control, and safety compliance of a 5 MW solar PV power plant. The role ensures maximum plant availability, optimized generation, and adherence to statutory and contractual obligations.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Plant Operations & Monitoring

• Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the solar power plant.
  
• Monitor plant generation, inverter performance, PR, CUF, and energy yield.
  
• Perform SCADA monitoring and analyze alarms/faults to initiate corrective actions.
  
• Maintain minimum downtime through quick troubleshooting and restoration.
  

B. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for:
  
• Inverters
  
• Transformers
  
• HT/LT Panels
  
• String Combiner Boxes (SCBs)
  
• Solar modules
  

Role & responsibilities

Preferred candidate profile

• Lead corrective maintenance activities for faults such as:
  
• String failures
  
• Breakdown in electrical equipment
  
• Grid outages
  
• Communication failures
  
• Ensure proper documentation of all maintenance activities.
  

C. Asset Management & Documentation

• Maintain logbooks, checklists, maintenance records, PR reports, and daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports.
  
• Track spare parts, tools, consumables, and coordinate procurement requirements.
  
• Ensure proper upkeep of all plant assets, security systems, and infrastructure.
  

D. Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, electrical norms, and statutory requirements.
  
• Conduct routine toolbox talks and safety drills.
  
• Ensure work is carried out as per SOPs, quality standards, and permit-to-work systems.
  

E. Manpower & Vendor Management

• Supervise site technicians, security, housekeeping, and contract manpower.
  
• Allocate daily work schedules and ensure productivity.
  
• Manage vendor activities (module cleaning teams, grass cutting, equipment servicing).
  

F. Performance Improvement

• Identify technical improvements to enhance plant PR & generation.
  
• Analyze plant downtime and suggest preventive actions.
  

G. Coordination & Reporting

• Submit daily generation reports, breakdown reports, and monthly performance summaries.
  

3. Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Renewable Energy.
  
• 37 years of experience in Solar O&M, preferably as a site incharge for 210 MW plants.
  
• Good knowledge of inverters, transformers, SCADA systems, and solar PV equipment.
  
• Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of safety practices (LOTO, PTW, etc.).
  
• Computer skills: MS Excel, MIS reporting, SCADA dashboards.
