Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  

• 8+ years

  of hands-on experience in Shopify development and architecting e-commerce solutions.
• Proven expertise in

  Shopify Plus

  , custom theme development, and scalable store architecture.
• Strong proficiency in

  Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

  , and modern front-end frameworks.
• Extensive experience with

  REST/GraphQL APIs

  , third-party app integrations, and custom app development.
• Deep understanding of

  e-commerce best practices

  , UI/UX, checkout flows, payment gateways, and security.
• Experience with

  performance optimization

  , caching, and site speed improvements.
• Familiarity with

  Agile, DevOps practices

  , CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
• Strong analytical, architectural, and problem-solving skills.
  
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with other e-commerce platforms (Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce).
  
• Shopify certifications or equivalent e-commerce certifications.
  
• Knowledge of backend technologies, cloud platforms, and database fundamentals.
  
• Experience with automated testing and QA frameworks.
  

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Lead architectural planning, solution design, and scoping for Shopify and Shopify Plus implementations.
  
• Define scalable and modular system architecture aligned with business goals and future growth.
  

Technical Leadership

• Guide teams on best practices, coding standards, and technical decisions.
  
• Select tools, frameworks, and approaches to optimize Shopify development.
  

Solution Development

• Build and integrate complex Shopify features:
  
• Custom themes
  
• Private/custom apps
  
• API integrations
  
• Headless Shopify (optional)
  
• Ensure high-quality code and maintain technical excellence.
  

Performance Optimization

• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement strategies to optimize:
  
• Liquid loops
  
• CDN utilization
  
• Script loading
  
• Images and assets
  
• API efficiencies
  

E-commerce Strategy

• Work closely with product, business, and UX teams to define and implement e-commerce roadmaps.
  
• Align technical solutions with growth, conversion, and UX goals.
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with design, QA, DevOps, and backend teams for end-to-end delivery.
  
• Ensure seamless execution and delivery of all e-commerce initiatives.
  

Security & Compliance

• Ensure solutions comply with e-commerce security standards, PCI, data protection, and Shopify guidelines.
  

Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across themes, apps, APIs, integrations, and infrastructure.
  

Continuous Improvement & Mentorship

• Stay up to date with Shopify trends, capabilities, and ecosystem upgrades.
  
• Mentor junior developers and improve team capability.
