Job Description

he Fitter will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems used in the production of ferro alloys. This role involves working with heavy machinery, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring minimal downtime for continuous plant operations. Key Responsibilities: Install, assemble, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment such as crushers, conveyors, screens, furnaces, blowers, and hydraulic systems. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and troubleshoot breakdowns of mechanical equipment. Ensure all fittings and connections are secure and comply with safety standards. Dismantle machinery and remove/replace defective parts using cranes, hoists, hand tools, and power tools. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals. Collaborate with electrical and instrumentation technicians when needed for joint operations. Maintain records of maintenance work and report to the maintenance engineer or supervisor. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies. Participate in regular inspections, audits, and shutdown maintenance.
