The STM is responsible for overall smooth execution of the manufacturing operation at the RNSEL.
He or she shall be responsible for Tracking daily production, identifying key enablers and providing solutions to the shift supervisors
regarding Man, Material and method. They are usually experts or specialists, formed for analyzing, investigating, or
solving a specific problem.
4. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Ensure & Follow all safety procedures in work areas.
* Co-ordinate with Day-store and planning team for forecast on production orders and also ensure production
order closure.
* "Initiate & Implement Continuous improvement activities using SPM & CPM Charts (Takt Time improvement,
Yield Improvement, BOM Wastage, Manpower reduction, Cost Rejection projects)"
* Co-ordinate with Respective line in-charges for below on daily basis
1. Shift wise production report
2. Identifying the hindrances which is causing production loss/ High Rejection and RCA for the same
3.Request for Material Codes, Raise PR for materials required on shop floor
* Ensure 5S standards are practiced on the shop floor and create Safe, clean and organized work area throughout
the unit.
* Ensure all QMS documents SOP, WI, checklist, forms and certificates are updated and controlled.
* Create and assign Clear roles and responsibilities for each team member in the Work Areas team is a prerequisite for stability and continuous improvement.
* Ensure proper inventory levels of materials and parts at point of use. Ensure Kanban is utilized and executed on
shop floor.
* Ensure waste materials are discarded in their designated area (location) and containers are properly sealed.
* Supervisors understand their daily targets to be achieved according to the latest Business Case.
* Create and implement continuous improvement culture on the shop floor through R&R schemes.
* Develop skill matrix of the shop floor manpower and develop competencies required through training
identification and needs.
* Develop standardized daily meeting structure - This would be an overall mapping of all the regular meetings
down to daily level. Eg, war-room, engineers/ team-leads.
* Plan and follow up the competency of the team members in a visual way. Visualize competence need in the
area and plan training. Strengthen the development of employee pride, job satisfaction and personal growth.
* Create Visual Management on the shop floor for tracking key performance indicators and action items for
improvement.
* Identify bottlenecks on the shop floor and create continuous flow in the production. Level different products
and create a standardized work sequence for the operators.
* Execute lean tools for identifying the root cause and implement a countermeasure's that prevents recurrence
and contributes to process stability.
