Shift Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Monitor and operate building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning and identify potential issues.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment as needed.
• Respond to and resolve building system alarms and emergencies.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with building occupants, management, and other team members.
• Respond to tenant requests and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Assist with the implementation of energy efficiency initiatives.
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate's degree in a related field preferred.
• 3 years of experience in building operations and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
