Sewing Machine Mechanic

As a Sewing Machine Mechanic in the shirt manufacturing unit at our company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth setup, operation, and maintenance of advanced sewing technology. Your expertise will contribute to the quality and efficiency of our shirt manufacturing facility. Key Responsibilities: - Machine Installation & Setup - Install, align, and calibrate sewing machines based on the shirt production layout. - Set up machines for specific shirt operations like collar, cuff, placket, yoke, sleeve, side seam, hem, buttonhole, and button sew. - Support factory setup activities including power line, compressed air, and workstation readiness. - Preventive & Corrective Maintenance - Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all sewing machines. - Quickly diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults to minimize downtime. - Maintain service logs and maintenance records for each machine. - Quality & Performance Optimization - Adjust stitch balance, tension, and feed for different fabric types such as cotton, poplin, and oxford. - Ensure smooth machine operation to meet quality standards and production targets. - Assist the production and quality team in resolving stitch-related quality issues. - Spare Parts & Workshop Management - Manage spare parts inventory and tools efficiently. - Coordinate with suppliers for spare parts procurement and new machine installation support. - Training & Team Support - Provide training to operators in basic maintenance, threading, and machine handling. - Supervise junior mechanics and ensure safety compliance during maintenance work. Qualifications Required: - ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Textile Machinery Maintenance is preferred. - At least 5 years of experience as a sewing machine mechanic in a shirt or woven garment factory. - Strong knowledge of machines like Juki, Brother, Pegasus, Siruba, etc. - Ability to read technical manuals and machine setup guides. - Hands-on experience with both manual and computerized sewing machines. - Proficient troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills.
