Service Manager

Role & responsibilities:

Field activities-

• To execute major and minor overhauls of reciprocating compressors
• To carry out minor repair jobs on site like, packing case replacement, valve

replacement, piston ring replacement etc.

• To carry out running gear overhaul activities like inspection of crankcase

including main and big end bearing inspection/replacement etc.

• To inspect/replace cross head, piston, piston rod/assembly.
• To measure cylinder bore, cross head bore etc.
• Inspection, OH of cylinder oil lubrication pump, MOP, AOP etc.
• Trouble shooting of any type of breakdowns/failures
• Can carry out root cause analysis of failures/breakdowns.
• Prepare service report/time sheet at the end of every job.

Spares management-

• Prepare spares list based on type of maintenance referring to service manual
• Inspection of spares at customer stores

Statutory compliance-

• Ensure that contractor complies to all the statutory and legal requirements. To

maintain zero tolerance in case of statutory and legal compliance.

• Ensure contractor makes payments to his employees on time and submits the

proofs.

• Make sure that there is no delay in submitting statutory reports and proofs to

customer on time.

Safety-

• To ensure all the safety guidelines stated by company and customer are strictly

followed

• Report every near miss and incidents and take immediate corrective actions.
• Identifying and reporting risks and hazards and also take corrective actions with

time line.

Preferred candidate profile:

Candidate must have experience in taking care of the machine shop / service center. They must have managed a team of 15-20 people , worked on reciprocating compressors, and carried overhauling activities in the refinery /petrochemical plants . They also need to have experience in preparing quotations for service activities .
