Job Description

As an Automobile Service Advisor, your role is crucial in acting as the main point of contact between customers and the service department, ensuring a positive service experience from drop-off to pickup. Your responsibilities will include: - **Customer Interaction** - Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their concerns, and accurately document vehicle symptoms and service requests. - Communicate recommended services, maintenance schedules, and repair options clearly and in a customer-friendly manner. - Provide updates on repair progress and promptly notify customers of any changes or additional work required. - **Service Coordination** - Create and manage repair orders meticulously, ensuring all information is accurate and complete. - Coordinate effectively with technicians to relay customer concerns and comprehend repair recommendations. - Schedule service appointments efficiently and ensure timely completion of work. - **Sales & Recommendations** - Advise customers on necessary maintenance based on vehicle condition, manufacturer guidelines, and inspection results. - Upsell additional services or products appropriately, maintaining customer trust and transparency. - **Documentation & Administration** - Prepare precise cost estimates, obtain necessary approvals, and maintain detailed records of services performed. - Keep service logs, inventory information, and customer databases up to date. - **Customer Satisfaction** - Uphold a high level of customer satisfaction through professionalism, effective communication, and quality service. - Address any complaints or concerns promptly and professionally. - Follow up with customers after service to ensure their expectations were met. **Required Skills & Qualifications** - Strong communication and customer service skills - Basic understanding of automotive systems and repair processes - Ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical customers - Organizational and multitasking abilities - Proficiency with service management software and standard office tools - Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills - High school diploma or equivalent; automotive or service advisor certifications (e.g., ASE) are a plus In terms of the work environment, you can expect to work in a fast-paced service department at a dealership or independent repair shop, with frequent interactions with customers, technicians, and parts staff. The job may require weekend or extended hours depending on business needs. This full-time, permanent position offers benefits such as health insurance and provident fund.
