About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and ethical SEO Specialist to manage and grow the organic visibility of a practicing lawyer’s website. The role is focused on organic search engine optimisation, local SEO, and long-term authority building for legal services.

This position does not involve paid advertisements, spam techniques, or unrealistic ranking guarantees. The candidate must be comfortable working within the ethical boundaries applicable to the legal profession.

Key ResponsibilitiesWebsite & On-Page SEO

• Conduct keyword research focused on practice area + city keywords
• Optimise service pages, blogs, and internal linking structure
• Improve on-page elements including titles, meta descriptions, headings, and content structure

Technical SEO

• Monitor and improve website speed, mobile responsiveness, and Core Web Vitals
• Ensure proper indexing, sitemap management, and error resolution
• Coordinate with web developer when required

Local SEO (Critical)

• Optimise and manage Google Business Profile
• Build and maintain local citations
• Improve visibility in local search results

Content & Authority Building

• Coordinate with in-house content (written by the lawyer) for SEO optimisation
• Plan ethical backlink strategies through:
• Legal directories
• Publications
• Editorial mentions
• Avoid black-hat or bulk link practices

Tracking & Reporting

• Monitor performance using Google Search Console and Analytics
• Track keyword rankings, traffic, and conversions
• Prepare periodic performance reports with actionable insights

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on SEO experience
• Strong understanding of local SEO for service-based businesses
• Experience working with professional or regulated websites (law, medical, finance, consulting preferred)
• Working knowledge of:
• Google Search Console
• Google Analytics
• Keyword research tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, etc.)
• Clear understanding of ethical SEO practices
• Ability to explain strategy and results clearly

Preferred (Not Mandatory)

• Prior experience handling SEO for lawyers or law firms
• Basic understanding of legal services and search intent
• Experience coordinating with in-house teams
