Senior Maintenance Technician (Cold Storage) – Reach Trucks, Racking Systems & Refrigeration

Maintenance Manager / Operations Head

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance and repair of reach trucks, mobile or static racking systems, cold storage refrigeration equipment, and handle basic electrical maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate should possess both mechanical and electrical aptitude, be proactive in preventive maintenance, and ensure equipment uptime and safety.

Key Responsibilities: Material Handling Equipment (Reach Trucks & Forklifts)

• Perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs of electric reach trucks (battery, hydraulic, mast, control panel, brakes)
• Troubleshoot error codes and replace defective components like contactors, joysticks, or motor controllers
• Coordinate battery watering, equalization charging, and charger unit inspection

Mobile & Static Racking Systems

• Inspect and maintain mobile racking motors, gearboxes, limit switches, control panels, and safety sensors
• Address derailment, alignment, and anchoring issues
• Carry out welding, bolt tightening, and structural repair as needed

Refrigeration Machinery (Cold Storage)

• Conduct basic troubleshooting of refrigeration units (compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors)
• Assist HVAC contractors in breakdown resolution and leak testing
• Monitor system pressures, refrigerant levels, and oil change schedules
• Maintain cooling tower and condenser cleaning logs

Basic Electrical Maintenance

• Repair and maintain panel wiring, MCBs, relays, and industrial sockets
• Replace damaged cables, lights, exhaust fans, and switches
• Conduct preventive electrical safety checks and insulation tests

Documentation & Preventive Maintenance

• Maintain daily and monthly maintenance logs and checklists
• Support inventory control for critical spares
• Prepare reports for equipment downtime, root cause analysis, and part replacements

Qualifications & Experience:

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
• 3–5 years experience in warehouse/cold storage/industrial maintenance
• Hands-on experience with reach trucks (Godrej, Crown, BT, Toyota, etc.)
• Familiarity with refrigeration systems, especially in cold storage setups
• Basic ability to read electrical schematics and repair panels

Key Skills:

• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
• Welding, fabrication, hydraulic repair knowledge
• Understanding of safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures
• Knowledge of refrigeration cycles and components
• Basic computer literacy for log entry

Preferred Certifications (Optional but Valuable):

• Forklift Maintenance Certification (OEM)
• Electrical Safety or LOTO Certification
• HVAC/REF Technician Certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
