Job Description

To be successful in this role, you should have a basic understanding of tax and accounting concepts, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, the ability to meet strict deadlines, and good communication skills. Basic or intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, internet navigation, and research is preferred, along with relevant experience in sales and use tax filing and return preparation. Key Responsibilities: - Create a positive team experience by proactively handling tasks. - Provide process-related guidance and instructions to junior staff and new hires. - Identify and address training needs for existing and new tasks, ensuring smooth knowledge transfer. - Assist with return preparation and ensure timely delivery meeting quality standards. - Review online filings of tax returns and Electronic Data Interchange and Electronic Funds Transfers (EDI / EFT's) from India. - Track errors accurately during return preparations and filing reviews. - Drive internal and external debrief calls, coordinate with Tax Specialists, and provide data for dashboards. - Assist Tax Associates with logging notices and voicemails, providing training, assignments, and support on notices and voicemails within deadlines. - Deliver assigned tasks within the Turn Around Time with expected quality standards. - Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. - Perform self-reviews before processing to the next level. - Ensure adherence to work plans, project deadlines, and tax calendar deadlines. - Reconcile sales tax returns to source data files. - Assist in preparing and maintaining TCS process documents and support process improvements. Qualifications Required: - Masters or bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting/Business preferred. - 2-4 years of experience in US Taxation. - Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office. - Strong communication and writing skills. - Intermediate to advanced skills in manipulating data using Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Nitro, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Access. - Troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve compliance, e-Filing, and data issues. - Ability to maintain quality control and perform error tracking at all levels. - Willingness to take additional responsibilities and perform assigned duties. - Ability to work in different shifts and overtime during compliance filing. - Regular interaction with employees in India and the US via email and telephone.
