Senior System Applications Specialist - DevOps on Production Support

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide application support for enterprise systems, ensuring uptime and performance.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve application and database-related issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring problems.
• Administer and maintain databases (Oracle, IBM Db2, SQL Server) including backups, tuning, and security.
• Support middleware and application servers (IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic).
• Collaborate with development teams for deployments and patching.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and system changes for knowledge sharing.
• Assist with upgrades, migrations, and integration projects.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards.

Skills Required:

• Strong experience in production support for enterprise applications
• Hands-on knowledge of DevOps practices in a production environment
• Proficiency in Shell scripting for automation and operational tasks
• Working experience with Python for scripting and troubleshooting
• Strong SQL skills for querying, analysis, and database troubleshooting
• Experience supporting relational databases such as Oracle, IBM Db2, and Microsoft SQL Server
• Understanding of middleware and application servers (IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic)
• Exposure to container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis (RCA)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
• Strong documentation, communication, and coordination skills
• Ability to work in 24/7 production support environments and handle critical incidents
