Senior Systems Administrator (Algorithmic Trading)

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with

  monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of performance, security, and stability issues

  in

  application, OS, and hardware layers.

• Participate in evolving projects aligned with company goals including complete new deployments.
• Participate in the development of schedules, priorities, and determination of timelines and resources.
• Help all departments in assuring that the highest level of customer satisfaction is maintained at all times.
• Maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism in the system administration department.
• Interface and work effectively and proactively with all cross-functional groups, prioritize and resolve software application issues.
• Coordinate the necessary development and infrastructure operations resources to solve application performance security, and stability issues.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware problems.
• Storage management and optimization of both Internal and hosted ASP infrastructures.
• Work actively with the team in identifying system optimizations and new technologies and products to improve the overall performance, efficiency, and resiliency of the infrastructure.

Experience/Skills:

• Microsoft certification required for this position.
• 5- 8 years experience as a System Administrator in a Windows environment, ideally financial securities-related, required as primary focus.
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server 2019 as well as 2008 R2 and 2012 R2, and Exchange Server 2013 or higher required and will be verified.

• Solid knowledge of Hyper-V 2012 R2 2019 full operations and RDS 2012 R2 – 2019 required.

• Solid knowledge of Windows File and SQL Clustering technologies required.

• Experience or exposure to Linux and cloud technologies preferably Amazon Web Services is preferable.

• SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2017 and 2019 experience a plus.
• Experience in financial (preferably securities industry) is strongly desired
• Excellent command of spoken and written English is required. The position involves extensive interaction with teams in London and New York, as well as clients globally. Very good communication skills are a prerequisite.
• Demonstrated history as a “Jack of all trades” in technical infrastructure.
• Demonstrated history of self-reliance.
